Grease Monkey Garage is an ongoing labor of love that began as a kid in his parents garage and became a place to hang with friends, wrench on bikes, drink a few beers and has recently turned into an actual shop. I'll be posting pics of new projects, shows I've been hitting up and pretty much anything I like.

Shop goings on

Got the new stator and regulator with built in capacitor wired up on the trumpet. Running no battery but I'm still getting a nice fat spark.

Luis swung by the shop with his new CB350. Its pretty clean and cranked right up after cleaning the carbs and adjusting the valves. Some ignition tuning and he'll be splitting lanes in no time.

Giveaway Tank
Bootlegger giveaway tank is done. In addition to holding gas this puppy holds about 16oz of whatever you choose to put in it. It is for show purposes only. (I usually show it off in parking lots and outside bars). You shouldn't put alcohol in it, but if you do, stay away from rum since it gums up. I suggest whiskey or vodka. If you're like me then this tank should pay for itself in a month since you won't need to buy drinks anymore.
If you'd like to buy one they run $450. If you have a different tank you want to use hit me up and we can work something out.

Vagabond Route
Day 2 from here on it's all back roads. We pass through quite a few nice small towns on our way to the mountains such as Plains, Warm Springs and Cartersville(home of the worlds 1st outdoor Coca-Cola sign) Once we get to the Skeenah Gap Campground we'll set up camp and then hit up the Blue Ridge Brewery for some beers and grub.

Day 3 We have a great ride right through the middle of the Chattahoochee Forest to the town of Helen and then make our way south passing through Madison, Eatonton along with a bunch of other small towns. We pass a few lakes and a river as well, so maybe we'll stop somewhere for a break and maybe a dip. We'll end up at the Kingsland GA KOA. I hate to stay here, but all the state parks require you to pay for the entire weekend, which is too expensive. you can put 2 tents on a KOA site so it's $12 per person.

Day 4 Wake up and get back home however you want. Hope you had fun and I look forward to next year. I'm thinking Alabama

Vagabond Update
The route is almost laid out and will be posted this week. I found a great campsite in the Chattahoochee forest just outside of Blue Ridge, the guy I spoke to seemed very laid back and assured me that they're very motorcycle friendly. you can check them out here Skeenah Creek
Friday night we'll grab a bite and some drinks at the Blue Ridge Brewery Pat the owner is a great guy and him and his buddies have an interesting arsenal of chopped up XS650's
I'm almost done with the Whiskey Tank I'm doing for the ride as a giveaway. I'm taking a bunch of pics and will do a write up/how to when it's done.
Tank on my bike
Bottom cut and stainless tank fitted for final placement.

Vagabond Run 2012 Sept 27-30
You know who you are, you're the guy that talks about riding places further away then most people would drive, you're the one who's not afraid of your bike breaking down, because you know every nut and bolt like the back of your hand and if it does break down so what, you'll fix it. You're the guy who'd rather camp out on the side of the road than stay at some overpriced hotel, you're the guy who rides through the rain because you know the sun has to come out eventually. You're the guy who prefers the sound of your exhaust over the pop music crap playing at your local HOG watering hole.
If this sounds like you then we hope to see you in Sept.
Here are the details so far. (Final route is in the works and will be made available soon)
*The 1st annual Vagabond Run is going to be taking place Sept 27-30. Thurs to Sun
*We are working on the route, but we will be riding from Miami to the Ellijay Blue Ridge area of northern Georgia and back. There will be a stop in central Florida on the way up to pick up whomever wants to join us(most likely Tampa or Ocala).
*We will be camping every night so pack a tent.
*There is no chase truck, so make sure you shit runs tight and pack some tools.
*Rain or shine we ride, so pack accordingly
*There is no fee and no registration
*Anyone can come and there are no exclusions, just be ready to ride and don't be a tool.
