Vagabond is dead

If anyone was planning on joining us in Georgia, I'm sorry to say we won't be making it. A lot of people started dropping out as things got closer, leading to a domino effect of people canceling. It appears that most of south Florida is only up for a short ride to some watering hole within an hours ride. To anyone who got time off from work I apologize and hope you'll still go for a ride. If I try this again next year I'm going to make sure there there's a core group of guys that is 100% dedicated to making this happen.

Head count

Trying to get an idea of who's meeting up with us in Ocala. Leave a comment so we know to wait for you.  Or call me at 305-586-6563

Weather

Mexican weather girl, today is going to be Muy Caliente

Checked the weather and things are looking decent. Forecast is for 30% chance of rain through FL on Day 1, which is about as good as it usually gets this time of year. In GA we're looking at 10-20% chance. Also temps will be ranging from 87-58 degrees, so pack accordingly. We're leaving early enough on Thursday that I think we should be able to dodge any of the normal afternoon Florida rain, so things should stay pretty dry, but you never know.

Shirts

So I have the shirts and still have some left, if you'd like one and are going on the run, let me know and I'll bring it with me on Thursday. I'm not riding with a box full of shirts, whomever says they want one and gives me their size gets one. $15 gets you a great shirt and guarantees you'll get layed. (guarantee only applies to people who are already getting layed on the regular)

The shirts are also available at Grease Monkey Garage

Almost ready for Vagabond

Been busy getting the Dirty Slut ready for the run. New tires, hacked up some old bars into something pretty decent, oil change and tune-up... Decided to run a 21" up front with an Avon Speedmaster, but the spokes on the freebee wheel a buddy gave me were all seized so time to lace her up with some new ones. Should be ready to roll tomorrow.
Looking forward to Thursday and hope everyone is going to make it.

Also, if you're coming on the run and would like to contact me for any reason: shoot me a message or email me at Peter@greasemonkeygarage.net  and I'll send you my contact info

Meeting spot for the ride

Alright, we will be leaving at 7am from the Dunkin Donuts right off of the Turnpike and Sunrise Blvd. I know it's early but its the only way we're going to beat traffic and get to Georgia with enough time to relax and drink a few beers.
For any of you Central Florida guys that will be joining us, we will be stopping at the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. We should be arriving at about noon and getting back on the road by 2pm There's a few places to grab lunch right by the museum.

Stoked about the ride and meeting whoever comes out. As always get the word out and lets make this happen.

Also, I will be out at The Wood Tavern this Thursday and Scrappy should be bringing a bunch of shirts with him if anyone want to pick one up.

Vagabond Art

So I spoke to Val (aka The Swede) and asked him if he knew any artists that could come up with some artwork for the Vagabond run shirt and he mentioned Brian Butler. I've seen some of his work on the Ice Cream People and after Val showed me some more of Brian's work I knew he was the right guy for the job.
Val's got a good eye for these things and suggested something with a crazy hobo, I thought it was a great idea and told him to speak to Brian about it. I knew that whatever Brian came up with was going to be kick ass and I was definitely not disappointed. I'd like to thank Brian for the amazing work and Val for hooking it all up.

you can check out more of Brian Butler here: The Upper Hand Art
and check out Val here:MLSTRM.COM

If you're interested in a shirt, hit me up. This is going to be a limited run and the response I get will determine how many shirts I print up. I'll also be making decals for everyone on the run.
